Me & Mine - June

Cornwall- Monday_0272June has been a month of preparation for our move to Canada. For the most part that preparation has been full of stress, filling out application forms and sending documents over the Atlantic. The other part of the preparation involved a week of being a family before we go (minus my brother & sister-in-law in Toronto). At the beginning of June we travelled down to Cornwall to spend some time together. For me it was a week behind the camera, a week of focusing on the little moments and of capturing family relationships.

A week of doting on my nephew and of hearing his little vocabulary develop.

It was a week of being with family but also being us. Enjoying little moments together. It was a week of sunshine; of sand and sea; a week of wetsuits, bodyboarding and harbour jumping. We ate freshly baked croissants for breakfast, devoured cornish pasties followed by ice-cream at lunch time. We treated ourselves more often than we should have but that's okay, because we were on holiday.

We enjoyed the glorious sunshine and had the wind on the coast nearly blow us away.

For the first time ever I started to experiment with film, putting together a small collage of clips from our holiday away. I have so much to learn but really enjoyed gathering the little moments and capturing them with my camera.

June, we have loved you. July is a busy month for us, we are preparing to move out of our home and in with my parents before making the big trip to Canada in August. It is daunting. We are stressed, crossing our fingers that everything goes to plan and runs smoothly to help us get there. At the same time we are bundles of excitement, eagerly anticipating our adventure which seems so soon but also like it is just out of reach.

This is me & mine in June.
