Me & Mine October

 It has been a long sixty-eight days but yes, Vancouver, I am finally here! August to October. Just over two months filled with daily Skype dates and FaceTime calls, catching up with each other's activities in the early hours of the morning when the rest of the house is fast asleep.

We are together again. Reunited at last.

Yet, it feels like we have never been apart. We have slotted in to our normal routines complete with morning cuddles before we face the world, exchanging a kiss before one of us leaves the house and evening movie nights involving treats and me failing to keep my eyes open due to jet lag.

 

We went out today to let me explore Vancouver. I tried to remember the bus routes we took but it will need some practice. We visited the library and signed up for library cards; him borrowing DVDs for his studies, me borrowing books galore. We visited Stanley Park in the rain and I fell in love with the bright red leaves scattered across the pavement. Together, we took a quick selfie this Halloween.

He is mine and I am his. In the past I have taken for granted having him by my side, facing our struggles together.

I am lucky to have him in my life.
