Me & Mine: September
On my Dad's side of the family there are currently twenty-seven of us (with more on the way). It has been a few years since we have all been together. Between us, we have lived in several countries: England, Wales, Ireland, France, Switzerland, Germany, Albania and Canada. Work / school responsibilities and holidays make that list of countries a lot longer. We are spread across the globe and it is very rare for us to all be in one place at one time, no matter how hard we try. In September all of us were together except for one person - My Handsome Man. There are a few young children in the family (and several adults who are children at heart). To keep us all entertained we hired a bouncy castle for the back garden.
It was a day of relaxing, of catching up; of entertaining little ones. We ate together and laughed together. We took photos and enjoyed the sunshine.
I know how incredibly lucky I am to have a close extended family. We love going on holiday together and having the odd day where we meet up to enjoy each other's company. Not all get togethers include us all. We drop in on each other as we cross the country, using our long journeys as excuses, even if dropping by means an hour detour.
This is Me and Mine, minus My Handsome Man. For the next year, the photos of my extended family will be minus us both.
