Project 52 - Weeks 28-31
Looking back on my Project 52 it feels surreal how different our lives are now to the beginning of July. There are more changes to come and nerves are increasing in equal measure to the excitement.
Week 28
Most weeks in July have been busy with packing and moving preparations. This week we went to Tewkesbury for the first time. I can't believe we had lived in Cheltenham for two years and not got round to visiting Tewkesbury. We started at the Abbey, which is stunning. We were looking after a friend's children for a couple of hours and we spent time in the grounds playing. After our babysitting role was over we explored Tewkesbury and found an amazing bookshop. I could have spent thousands upon thousands of pounds there (moving to Canada prevented me from buying lots), I did come away with a gorgeous copy of Anne of Green Gables.
Week 29
This week we had a family get together with My Handsome Man's side of the family. We gathered in Bradgate Park in Leicester for a picnic and games. It was fun being with family. I took so many photos but also allowed others to be responsible for capturing the little moments so I could enjoy the time with family before we leave for a year. I do love this photo I captured of a recent addition to my sister-in-law's family.
Week 30
The week finally arrived.
We had anticipated it for basically the whole of 2015. This week we moved out of our home in Cheltenham and in with my parents until we fly. Friends organised a surprise leaving meal where we got the balloon. This photo was taken on moving day, in our empty living room. We have loved Cheltenham and it was incredibly hard to leave.
Week 31
My parents have a temporary swimming pool in their garden. My nephew loves the water. He is desperate to get in and he climbs the sides of the pool to see over the top. We changed him in to his wetsuit because he was splashing around so much. I handed him to his Daddy who was in the pool and he lowered his feet into the water. The cold water shocked him a little and he shouted "no no no no" so his Daddy lifted him out of the water to be met with tears and his little one straining to get in the water. He lowered him again, "no no" repeated but again on lifting him out he was determined to get back in the water. He eventually got in the water where he spent 5-10 minutes splashing around and giggling before the shivering got too much and his little lips started to turn a purplish-blue hue. We retrieved him from the water and the tears rolled down his cheeks. We bathed him in warm water, wrapped him in a towel with a bottle of warm milk and left him to snuggle with Mummy.
