Pumpkin Patch
I first went to a pumpkin patch last year and I absolutely loved it. I knew it was something I wanted to incorporate into our diary each year because it feels so autumnal.
Confession: I am not a fan of halloween. I know! There are so many who love Halloween… it’s just not my thing. Okay, the cute little children that turn up in their halloween outfits and shyly thank you for the sweets are adorable.
But, I’m not a fan of horror movies - I hate scary things. It really does not appeal to me in any way.
However I love Autumn. It is my favourite season. The boots come out, the jumpers start to make an appearance, hot chocolates are consumed, and the warm cosy vibes are strong.
My purpose in going to the pumpkin patch is not to find pumpkins to carve, I love having one or two tiny pumpkins in our home as decoration. The ghost pumpkins are my favourite.
I dragged my husband out to the pumpkin patch this year and searched the field for the perfect ghost pumpkin. Whereas most people there were using the wheelbarrows or asking their partners to carry the pumpkins because of the sheer size and weight, I asked mine to carry the pumpkin so I could freely take photographs as I was inspired to do so.
Sometimes, when things are out of our control we need little moments to focus on something creative for our own mental health. The pumpkin patch at Puxton Park was the perfect afternoon for this.
